Introducing Wempily: We Manage Projects Intelligently - Wempily
Update (January 2026): Wempily has evolved into Peacae—a name that better reflects our mission of bringing peace to project management in the AI era. This post is preserved for historical context.
Introducing Wempily: We Manage Projects Intelligently
We're excited to announce a major evolution: Wemp is now Wempily.
Same automatic Git tracking you love. Same zero-friction workflow. Same commitment to making project management effortless for developers.
But now with intelligence that actually helps you work smarter.
Why Wempily?
When we started Wemp, our goal was simple: eliminate the friction between doing work and tracking work. We succeeded—developers love the automatic tracking from Git commits.
But we realized we could do more. We could add intelligence through rule-based systems that work with the AI agents you're already using (like Cursor, Copilot) to generate tasks from commits, auto-categorize work, and surface insights through pattern recognition.
Wempily means "We Manage Projects Intelligently." It's not just a name change—it's a positioning upgrade that captures what makes us different: smart automation that respects how developers actually work.
What's New?
Same Core, Enhanced Intelligence
Everything you love about Wemp is still here:
✅ Automatic task creation from Git commits
✅ Real-time dashboards and progress tracking
✅ Kanban boards and Gantt charts
✅ Multi-project support
✅ On-premise deployment for complete data control
But now with intelligent enhancements:
✨ AI Agent Integration - Wempily works seamlessly with the AI coding assistants you're already using (Cursor, Copilot, etc.). These AI agents can query our API before committing, determine if tasks are new or updates, and generate appropriate tags automatically—no new AI needed.
✨ Smart Auto-Categorization - Don't want to tag every commit? Wempily uses rule-based pattern matching to automatically categorize your work—features, bugs, refactors, and more—from commit messages and code changes.
✨ Pattern Recognition - Wempily uses rule-based logic to recognize patterns in your commits, track progress, and surface insights—all through smart code that reads your commits, not AI.
The "Wemp" Movement
Here's something special: Wempily is our official product name (for professional, formal contexts), but "wemp" lives on as a verb in our community.
Just like "google" became a verb for search, "wemp" is becoming the verb for intelligent, automatic project tracking:
- •"Just wemp it" (commit and let it track automatically)
- •"I wemped that feature yesterday"
- •"Wemping my progress daily"
- •"Did you wemp your commits?"
This dual-brand approach gives us professional credibility (Wempily) while building grassroots developer culture (wemp). When developers say "I wemp my commits," they're spreading our gospel.
